XP Using Removable Storage
You might need to be logged on as an administrator or a member of
the Administrators group in order to perform some tasks.
Removable Storage makes it easy for you to track your removable
storage media (such as tapes and optical discs) and to manage the
libraries that contain them (such as changers and jukeboxes).
To open Removable Storage
Open Computer Management (Local).
To open Computer Management:
- Click Start, and then
- Click Control Panel.
- Click Performance and Maintenance,
- Click Administrative Tools, and then
- Double-click Computer Management.
In the console tree, click Removable Storage.
Console tree
The left pane in a Microsoft Management Console (MMC) that displays
the items contained in the console. By default it is the left pane
of a console window, but it can be hidden. The items in the console
tree and their hierarchical organization determine the capabilities
of a console.
